Job Overview
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team designing and developing downhole tools and equipment for the oil and gas industry. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex mechanical challenges in high-pressure environments.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop downhole tools, components, and assemblies using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
- Perform engineering calculations and stress/FEA analysis for tools operating under extreme pressure and temperatures
- Support prototyping, testing, and validation of new tool designs
- Collaborate with manufacturing and field teams to troubleshoot performance issues
- Prepare technical documentation, drawings, and specifications
- Ensure designs meet API and industry standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 4+ years of experience in oilfield, downhole, or related mechanical design
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling
- Familiarity with materials selection for harsh downhole environments
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- P.Eng, designation
