Job Description
Muskoka On The Rocks is seeking an experienced and motivated Floor Manager to lead our front-of-house team. This is a hands-on role for someone who can manage service flow, support staff, and ensure every guest has a great experience.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee daily front-of-house operations
- Lead and support servers, bartenders, and hosts
- Supervise and coordinate daily restaurant operations to ensure smooth service flow
- Ensure smooth and efficient service during busy hours
- Manage POS systems for order processing and cash handling
- Handle guest concerns professionally
- Maintain cleanliness and follow health & safety standards
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to maintain service quality
- Oversee kitchen operations, including food safety practices and cleanliness
- Maintain inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers as needed
- Enforce hospitality standards to create a positive dining experience
- Lead by example in serving guests and maintaining a professional environment
What We're Looking For
- 3–5 years of restaurant experience (required)
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience
- Smart Serve Certification required (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with POS systems ; cash handling expertise required
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to resolve issues diplomatically
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in interviewing and hiring staff to build effective teams
- Strong communication skills and ability to motivate staff effectively
- Knowledge of the food industry trends and restaurant operations
- Flexible availability (evenings, weekends, holidays)
