Junior Fire Alarm Technician

We are currently recruiting a Junior Fire Alarm Technician (with plans to complete CFAA certification) to join our growing team at our Calgary, AB location. The Junior Fire Alarm Technician will be responsible for providing customer and technical support for new and installed fire alarm systems. Scope of work includes working with senior technicians in providing technical assistance, troubleshooting, testing, and inspection of fire alarm systems.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Test, repair, and service a variety of fire alarm systems and equipment with guidance as needed.
- Assisting senior technicians to Identify and resolve problems for most types of service calls including emergency calls; analyzes repair requirements and provides customer with appropriate solutions; complete necessary repairs and replacements as needed;
- Acquiring and using technical knowledge, skills and experience in testing, annual inspections, and adjusting equipment to obtain optimum operating performance.
- Assisting senior technicians to perform wiring checkout, system start-ups, and programming using commissioning tools.
Complete final adjustments, calibration, and commissioning reports on systems.
- Complete accurate and detailed service reports.
- Learn to read and understand engineered drawings, specifications, programs, schematics, installation manuals, and service manuals
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Junior technicians having some experience as a Service Technician within the Fire Alarm industry an asset.
- Ability to communicate in English both verbal and written.
- Experience with Notifier by Honeywell products an asset.
- CFAA Fire Alarm Technician course exposure an asset.
- Diploma in Electronics Technology an asset
- Solid customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to meet customers needs.
- Strong technical skills and experience related to fire alarm systems an asset.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions
- Possess a valid and clean motor vehicle license
- Ability to lift equipment and tools up to 70lbs and climb ladders and scaffolding
- Competency in Microsoft Office suite including Word and Excel.
