Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated, organized, professional Human Resources & Workplace Safety Manager to oversee all aspects of employee relations, safety protocols, and workforce development within our manufacturing facility. This hybrid role combines HR responsibilities with workplace health and safety coordination to support daily business operations and employee well-being. This role is also vital in fostering a safe, compliant, and productive work environment by implementing effective HR strategies and safety programs.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, confident in communicating with staff, and experienced in workplace policies, employee relations, and safety compliance.
Duties
- Develop, implement, and maintain workplace safety policies in compliance with WSIB, Ontario's occupational health and safety system, and other regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Lead safety training sessions for new hires and ongoing employee development to promote a culture of safety.
- Manage all HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and disciplinary procedures.
- Travel between locations, supporting JHSC teams, and ensuring all reports and boards are up to date.
- Coordinate training & development programs to enhance employee skills, knowledge, and career growth opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies
- Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns, fostering open communication and resolving workplace issues effectively.
- Collaborate with management to develop strategies that improve workforce productivity and morale.
Requirements
- Preferred experience in Human Resources, Health and Safety, and/or administration.
- Strong knowledge of workplace safety regulations and HR best practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze workplace data to identify trends and implement proactive solutions.
- JHSC/OHS Certification is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Occupational Safety, or related field are a plus.
