Operations and Fleet Manager

A growing transportation and mobility services company is seeking an experienced Operations and Fleet Manager to oversee the daily performance of a multi location operation.
This position is suited to a hands on manager who is organized, commercially minded, comfortable dealing with customers, and capable of managing vehicles, employees, schedules, and operational issues in a fast moving environment.
The successful candidate will take ownership of day to day operations while helping improve customer service, vehicle utilization, staff accountability, administrative controls, and overall profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations across multiple locations
- Manage the availability, movement, condition, and utilization of a vehicle fleet
- Coordinate vehicle cleaning, maintenance, repairs, inspections, and seasonal requirements
- Ensure vehicles are prepared and available when required
- Supervise, schedule, train, and support frontline employees
- Establish clear expectations and hold staff accountable for performance
- Respond professionally to customer concerns and resolve operational problems
- Monitor reservations, scheduling, vehicle assignments, and changing customer needs
- Maintain accurate records relating to vehicles, customers, payments, damages, and operating activity
- Review outstanding accounts, deposits, documentation, and administrative processes
- Assist with fleet purchasing, disposal, replacement planning, and cost control
- Track operational performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability
- Ensure company procedures, safety standards, and insurance requirements are consistently followed
- Communicate regularly with ownership and provide clear reporting on operational results and concerns
Qualifications
- Previous experience managing an automotive, transportation, logistics, service, retail, hospitality, or fleet based operation
- Strong leadership and employee management skills
- Excellent organizational and problem solving abilities
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a customer focused environment
- Strong attention to detail and administrative follow through
- Ability to manage difficult conversations professionally and confidently
- Experience working with vehicle fleets is considered a strong asset
- Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and automotive operations is beneficial
- Comfortable using scheduling, customer management, payment, and reporting software
- Valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record
