Presses residents’ personal clothing, table cloths and skirts, and napkins
Washes, dries, and irons clothes
Ensures equipment is clean and safe
Picks up, sorts, washes, dries, hangs, and delivers clean linen/laundry.
Operates washers and dryers adhering to established formulas and manufacturer’s instructions.
Cleans and maintains washing and drying equipment for use in linen/laundry including the linen and laundry rooms.
Maintains cleanliness, orderliness, and general repair of equipment and work area.
Maintains list of homes laundry weights on a daily basis.
Receives goods from suppliers, checks orders and puts away in proper location, and rotates inventory as new stock is received.
Performs cleaning functions in assigned areas.
Follows safe work practices for chemical use including proper labelling, storage, and use
Performs other related duties as required
Minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Minimum of 2 years work experience in the Laundry field considered an asset.
Previous experience working in a Long Term care or Acute Care environment considered an asset.
Must be able to read, write, comprehend, and follow through on specific instructions.
Previous laundry experience preferred.
Must be responsible, dependable, and able to work with minimal supervision.
Must be in good health
Must be flexible and able to work all shifts (days, evenings & nights). These would include 8hr, 10hr or 12hr shifts.
Ability to lift, pull, push and move carts, equipment and heavy materials on a regular basis.
Must be able to read, write, comprehend and follow through, on instructions
Able to perform washperson duties if required.
Ability to work independently
Must be able to maintain regular and consistent attendance in accordance with the Northwood corporate standard.
