Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Automotive Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair and maintenance, with experience working on various types of vehicles and heavy equipment. Duties
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on automobiles, trucks, and heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery
- Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics, diagnostic tools, and mechanical knowledge
- Repair or replace faulty components using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialized tools
- Conduct electrical repairs and troubleshoot electrical systems within vehicles and industrial equipment
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial machinery as needed
- Follow safety protocols during all repair procedures to ensure a safe working environment
- Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams for complex repairs
- Maintain detailed service records for each vehicle or piece of equipment serviced
- Assist with assembly or installation of new equipment or components when required
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair needs and solutions effectively
Skills
- Proven mechanic experience with automotive repair and maintenance
- Dealership experience is a plus
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and schematics
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic devices
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to read schematics and technical manuals
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
