Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Kitchen Hand to join our team. The ideal candidate will support daily kitchen operations by assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring food safety standards are met. This role is essential in providing efficient service and a clean, organized environment for both staff and customers. Prior restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred but not required, as training will be provided.
Duties
- Assist with food preparation and meal assembly in accordance with established recipes and standards
- Support cooking activities by preparing ingredients and basic cooking tasks under supervision
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures and hygiene practices
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste appropriately
- Support food service operations by setting up serving stations and assisting with plating when necessary
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly stored, cleaned, and maintained
- Follow health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all staff members
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environments is advantageous but not mandatory
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to perform meal preparation and basic cooking tasks efficiently
- Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and hygiene practices
- Good teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting kitchen staff
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting light loads
- Willingness to learn new skills related to food preparation and kitchen operations
