ESL Instructor / Language Teacher (Part-Time / Casual)

Responsibilities
In this position, you will:
- Design engaging and student-centered classroom activities
- Encourage interactive learning rather than lecture-based instruction
- Adapt lessons to accommodate different learning styles and needs
- Assign and review homework regularly
- Communicate constructive feedback to students and parents
- Complete brief weekly student progress updates
- Assist learners preparing for IELTS, TEFL, and other English proficiency examinations
- Provide academic support with writing assignments, presentations, and schoolwork
Qualifications
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Excellent English communication skills
- Legal authorization to work in Canada
- Residing in or near Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, Guelph, or London
- Prior tutoring or teaching experience preferred
- TESL, TESOL, CELTA, or equivalent certification required
Pay
- $22.50/hour — private one-on-one instruction
- $24.00/hour — two-student classes
- $26.66/hour — group classes of 3–7 students
- (Most group sessions run approximately 90 minutes.)

Scheduling Expectations
Instructors have flexibility in choosing their availability; however, teachers must be able to commit to completing the full duration of a 10-class course once assigned.
