The Claresholm Centre for Mental Health & Addictions is a 120-bed facility with an attached outpatient program (community support services) of 40 spaces. There are three primary inpatient units at the site including Concurrent Disorders, Active Psychiatric Rehabilitation, Extended Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Transitions Unit. Professionals at the Centre believe in each individual’s potential for development and success. Our team includes nurses, social workers, psychiatrists, psychologists, physicians, pharmacists, recreational and occupational therapists, dieticians and other mental health providers. Once a patient is ready for transition and re-entry into community living, follow-up support, outpatient programs and outreach services are coordinated for patients. These form a comprehensive treatment model with various service options for patients. As a Psychologist I, you will work with or within teams to provide a range of standard level psychology services to patients and their families within the established standards, directives, and policies for the work environment. Your services may include psychological screening and/or assessment, diagnosis, interventions, rehabilitation, prevention and promotion, as well as educational activities. You will collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals in planning and implementing services that align with best practices and ethical and professional standards. You will provide input to the interprofessional team related to psychological factors, barriers and dynamics that influence client treatment planning, participation, outcomes and team functioning, and consult and collaborate with teams and community services. Your duties may also include providing supervision to psychometrists, provisional psychologists and/or masters level psychology students, and providing input into program, policy and/or procedure development in addition to participating in formal research initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in Psychology in an applied area relevant to the practice setting from an accredited university program. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP).
Additional Required Qualifications:
A combination of substantial education and experiential equivalencies may be considered for this position. Supervised experience in psychological assessment and cognitive behavioral group therapy. It is a condition of employment that the successful applicant maintains registration in good standing as a Psychologist during his/her tenure in the position. Experience in assessment and group therapy with adults with a variety of mental disorders in a multidisciplinary setting with an emphasis on addictions treatment. Ability to establish and maintain excellent interpersonal relationships with patients, interdisciplinary team members, students and other colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications:
Authorization to perform mental health psychosocial interventions. Experience conducting psychological testing. Formal training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Certification in, or eligibility for, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Knowledge and application of Trauma Informed Care principles Valid CPR certification
