Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Polisher to join our manufacturing team. This role involves polishing metal or other materials to meet precise specifications and will include removing burrs and sharp edges by using various hand tools and equipment, ensuring high-quality finished products. The Polisher will play a critical role in maintaining product standards and supporting the manufacturing process in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Operate polishing equipment and hand tools to achieve desired surface finishes on various components
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models to determine polishing requirements
- Perform quality control checks using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools to ensure specifications are met
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency
- Follow safety protocols related to welding, machining, and handling of materials
- Report any scrap or left-over materials or parts; apply appropriate tags to deviated parts.
- Execute any marking on the parts as per instructions
Skills/Qualifications
- Secondary education.
- Acceptable knowledge of manufactured parts and cleaning/finishing equipment.
- Experience in aerospace is preferred.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, mechanical principles, and quality control processes
- Experience with welding, assembly, or use of hand tools such as calipers is a plus
- Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail
- Passion for craftsmanship or hands-on artistic work is an asset
