Kablar Engineering is seeking an experienced Electrical FSR / Journeyman Electrician to support the installation and commissioning of EV charging infrastructure projects across British Columbia.
This role will support municipal, commercial, and fleet electrification projects involving Level 2 and DC Fast Charging infrastructure, electrical distribution systems, EVEMS/load management systems, and related electrical infrastructure.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with the Canadian Electrical Code, Technical Safety BC requirements, and municipal standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide FSR oversight for electrical installations and field activities
- Coordinate electrical permitting and inspections with Technical Safety BC and local authorities
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and single-line diagrams
- Install and support EV charging infrastructure including:
- Level 2 EV chargers
- DC Fast Chargers
- EVEMS/load management systems
- Distribution equipment
- Transformers
- Electrical kiosks
- Perform field reviews and site inspections
- Coordinate shutdowns, commissioning, and energization activities
- Ensure installations comply with:
- Canadian Electrical Code
- BC Electrical Safety Regulation
- Technical Safety BC requirements
- Municipal standards
- Troubleshoot and commission EV charging systems
- Coordinate with contractors, utilities, consultants, and municipal staff
- Assist with as-built drawings and project closeout documentation
- Assist with load calculations and electrical capacity reviews
- Participate in project meetings and progress reporting
Qualifications
- Valid BC FSR certification (Class A or B preferred)
- Red Seal Journeyman Electrician certification
- Minimum 5+ years of commercial or infrastructure electrical experience
- Experience with EV charging infrastructure projects strongly preferred
- Experience with:
- EVEMS/load management
- Commercial electrical systems
- 208V/480V distribution
- Underground electrical infrastructure
- Service upgrades
- Commissioning and startup
- Strong understanding of:
- Canadian Electrical Code
- Technical Safety BC processes
- BC utility coordination procedures
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications
- Strong troubleshooting and field coordination skills
- Valid driver’s license and ability to attend field sites across BC

Pay: $35.00-$65.00 per hour
