Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shift Manager to oversee daily operations in our busy food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a solid background in food preparation and restaurant management, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring food safety standards, managing POS systems, and maintaining a high level of hospitality. The Shift Manager will play a key role in fostering a positive team atmosphere while ensuring operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth workflow and high-quality service.
- Lead and motivate team members, including interviewing, training, and evaluating staff performance to promote a productive work environment.
- Oversee food preparation, cooking processes, and food handling to ensure compliance with safety standards and quality expectations.
- Manage POS transactions using Micros POS or similar systems, including cash handling and reconciliation at shift end.
- Ensure adherence to food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and proper kitchen procedures.
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and maintain excellent customer service standards.
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and ensure proper storage of food items.
- Enforce restaurant policies related to hospitality, serving protocols, and alcohol service if applicable.
- Assist in managing restaurant cleanliness, organization, and safety protocols throughout the shift.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food service management or restaurant supervision with strong leadership skills.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and food safety regulations.
- Experience operating POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms; cash handling skills are essential.
- Background in hospitality or hotel industry is advantageous; barista or bar management experience is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle challenging situations professionally.
- Strong team management abilities including interviewing, training, and performance evaluation.
- Familiarity with restaurant operations including kitchen experience, food industry standards, and supervising staff.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed; previous restaurant or hotel experience is preferred.

Pay: $17.60-$18.50 per hour
