Job Description
Leading Engineering is seeking a motivated Electrical CAD Drafter to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone with strong AutoCAD and Revit skills who enjoys producing accurate construction drawings and working in a collaborative engineering environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with our Electrical Designers and Engineers to prepare and maintain electrical drawings for commercial, residential, institutional, and industrial building projects.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and revise electrical drawings using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
- Develop electrical floor plans, power layouts, lighting layouts, single-line diagrams, and electrical room layouts under the direction of project engineers.
- Update and maintain project drawings throughout all stages of design and construction.
- Ensure drawings comply with company CAD/BIM standards.
- Coordinate electrical drawings with architectural, structural, mechanical, and other consultant drawings.
- Assist in identifying and resolving drawing conflicts during project coordination.
- Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and consistency before project submissions.
- Maintain organized project files and documentation.
- Assist with Revit model coordination and drawing updates.
- Incorporate design markups and revisions from engineers and project managers in a timely manner.
- Participate in internal project coordination meetings as required.
- Perform other drafting and project support tasks assigned by Project Managers or Principals.
Qualifications
- Diploma or certificate in CAD Drafting, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related program.
- 1–2 years of drafting experience, preferably in an electrical consulting engineering environment.
- Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD and familiar Autodesk Revit.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings and drafting standards.
- Familiarity with electrical building systems, including lighting, power distribution, fire alarm, communications, and security systems, is an asset.
- Experience coordinating drawings with multiple disciplines is an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.50-$23.00 per hour
