Landmark is currently partnered with a great organization located in the heart of Downtown to find a new Senior Property Accountant for their large scale, property management accounting team. The position requires excellent communication, analytical, interpersonal and time management skills, with 5 years experience in accounting and pursuing their CPA. The Senior Accountant must be detail oriented and have experience with the preparation of property financial reports, reconciling and analyzing accounts. Expertise with Yardi, advanced level Excel, and other Microsoft Office features is preferred.
Specific duties and responsibilities:
Financial Accounting
- Preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement package
- Variance analysis for financials
- Reconcile and review subledgers: AR, AP, and tenant ledgers
- Operating cost and property tax reconciliations
- Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts
- Posting and reviewing monthly recurring/adjusting journal entries
- Review monthly bank reconciliations
- Year-end closing entries and working papers
- Reviewing cheque runs
- Preparation of annual budgets and related schedules
- Preparation of other ad hoc reports as needed
Other:
- Provide training and supervision to junior and intermediate staff
- Working with the other accountants to complete other accounting tasks.
- Providing support to other accounting staff as required.
- Other general accounting duties as assigned or requested by Management from time to time.
Organizational Relationships:
This position reports directly to the Controller and Director of Property Management.
