Rotation 6 weeks in 2 weeks out
The Journeyman Plumber will be responsible for all aspects of the installation, maintenance, inspection, operation and repair of the plumbing systems in our commercial and residential buildings.
The incumbent will also work in cooperation with other trades and labourers to ensure that all specifications, legislation and policies are met, and to ensure efficient completion of any project.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance of plumbing systems in residential and commercial buildings
- Respond to plumbing calls from our general contracting team
- Install plumbing systems in new construction and rehab properties
- Work with our Property Manager, Project Manager, Trades Admin Support to obtain permits for plumbing work to be performed
- Adhere to current rules and regulations related to plumbing so that systems pass inspection the first time
- Completion of work order forms, detailing work performed and materials used, assist in inventory and stock control, and compiling of supply orders
- Supervision/training of apprentices as required
- Be on call-out team to handle emergencies
- Travel to other various communities in Nunavut when needed
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 5+ years’ technical and trade experience
- Current plumbing license / Red Seal Certification
- In-depth knowledge of maintenance and repairs of plumbing systems
- Understanding of the current regulations within the field
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills on a technical level
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Current 5F driver’s license
- Able to pass the required background and credit checks
Job Type: Full-time
