As a Class 1 Driver, you'll be responsible for delivering building materials safely and efficiently to residential, commercial, and industrial customers throughout the region. You'll work closely with our yard and dispatch teams to ensure accurate, on-time deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 tractor-trailer combinations in compliance with all provincial and federal regulations.
- Deliver lumber, building materials, and related products to customer job sites and businesses.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload materials safely and efficiently.
- Inspect vehicles before and after each trip and report any maintenance concerns.
- Complete delivery paperwork accurately and maintain required logbooks/documentation.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service during deliveries.
- Assist in the lumber yard with loading, unloading, and general yard duties when required.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (training provided if needed).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and promptly report hazards or incidents.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Valid Class 1 Driver's License with a clean driver's abstract.
- Air Brake (Q) endorsement.
- Experience hauling building materials or operating truck-mounted forklifts is considered an asset.
- Previous lumber yard or construction materials experience is an asset.
- Crane operator experience also an asset.
- Strong commitment to safety and customer service.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Available to work Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts.
