Overview
We are seeking a motivated and eager framing carpenter to join our team. Experienced carpenters are welcome to apply. Should be of Journeyman caliber.
Duties
- Work as a team to carry out framing construction projects.
- Work in framing projects that are both structural and back framing.
- Work in various framing projects that include: renovation, structural renovation, additions, new builds, wall removals and beam installs.
- Demolition work is typically included within most job scopes.
- Assist in the construction, installation, and repair of structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to understand project requirements.
- Work as a team and with partners to accomplish tasks.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for various carpentry tasks.
- Engage in assembly tasks related to construction elements.
- Perform heavy lifting as required for transporting materials and equipment on job sites.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Operate with the utmost regard for health and safety at all times.
Requirements
- 5+ years experience in residential framing construction.
- Safety certifications required: working at heights, WHMIS, worker health and safety.
- Understands roof framing with both truss systems and hand cut roofs.
- Must be willing or already registered with Skilled Trades Ontario as apprentice or journeyman carpenter.
- Trade school completion is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong interest in carpentry, construction, or related fields with a willingness to learn.
- Understands theoretical residential framing techniques.
- Strong familiarity with basic hand tools and power tools used in carpentry.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics is required.
- Experience in general residential construction is a plus.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods during work shifts.
- Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members on-site.
- A proactive attitude towards learning new skills such as print reading, construction estimating and/or building code.
- Conducts themselves with a positive, solution based attitude.
- Must have reliable transportation to different project sites around the GTA.

Pay: $41.75 per hour
