Description: We are looking for a Facilities Technician to perform maintenance/upgrades of the facility and to assist the Ground Service Equipment department as required.
What you will be responsible for:
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs of the facility and equipment safely in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications
- Perform periodic building maintenance inspections and testing to ensure conformity to code and requirements by provincial and federal laws;
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials using power tools and hand tools;
- Assist in installing structures such as windows, doors, cabinets, drywall and molding;
- Assist in constructing building frameworks including walls and floors;
- Building/assembling storage racks (including fast tube), sawhorses and work tables
- Painting stands, ladders, worktables, and garbage containers
- Taping and labelling floor areas
- Relocating racks, stands, and worktables
- Locate parts required for maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs;
- Keep detailed and accurate maintenance records of all work performed;
- Garbage removal within Hangar
- Exterior building maintenance as required by season
- Operate company vehicles and heavy equipment
- Actively participate in the Safety Management System (SMS), including reporting safety hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand and promote the company safety policy
- Other duties as assigned.
What you will need to be successful in this role:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Driver’s License Class G
- Knowledge of general maintenance & repairs
- Mechanically inclined
- Basic hand tools – list will be provided
- Ability to read, interpret and perform maintenance activities using operating/maintenance instructions and manuals
- Forklift experience considered an asset

- Working on the Hangar floor and outside the building
- Shift Work
- Ability to continuously stand/walk while performing work
- Lifting, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and climbing are required
- Ability to safely lift 50lbs
- Able to work at heights or confined spaces
- Periodic overtime may be required
- Perform tasks in adverse weather conditions
