Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Dump Truck Driver to join our team. This role involves operating heavy-duty dump trucks to transport materials safely and efficiently across various job sites across Waterloo Region and surrounding areas. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of commercial driving regulations, heavy equipment operation, and vehicle maintenance.
Minimum Requirements
- Valid AZ or DZ Driver’s License (Ontario)
- Minimum 3 years of verifiable experience operating heavy dump trucks on Ontario roads (required)
- Insurance Letter of Experience confirming commercial driving experience operating heavy dump truck (required)
- Clean driver’s abstract and CVOR
- Strong knowledge of Ontario road regulations and safety standards
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late evenings and occasional weekends
- Ability to operate a manual transmission required
- Physically capable of meeting the job requirements; ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds or more, sitting for extended periods, kneeling, squatting, climbing in and out of the box etc.
Responsibilities
- Operate triaxle dump trucks safely on public roads, highways and construction sites
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety
- Transport materials such as gravel, sand, asphalt, demolition materials and debris
- Follow all laws, rules and regulations as per the Highway Traffic Act and Ministry of Transportation (MTO) and company policies
- Maintain accurate logs of hours, mileage, and deliveries
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, site supervisors, and team members to ensure timely pick up and delivery of material to various job sites
- Ensure loads comply with weight restrictions
- Report any vehicle issues, incidents, or delays promptly
- Assist with basic maintenance and cleanliness of the truck
