Job Overview
The EHS Manager – Infrastructure & Operations ensures compliance with all EHS regulations and KNDS Canada policies, integrating safety into projects and operations. The role oversees inspections, contractor compliance, incident management, and emergency preparedness while maintaining documentation and updating EHS guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee environmental, health, and safety (EHS) compliance across KNDS Canada operations, ensuring alignment with applicable legislation, customer requirements, CAF/DND standards, and Company policies.
- Lead and coordinate EHS activities for operational and infrastructure projects, working with internal departments, contractors, and external stakeholders to maintain safe and compliant workplaces.
- Conduct inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and risk evaluations, implementing and monitoring corrective and preventive actions.
- Manage contractor safety, environmental compliance, and workplace incident investigations, including root cause analysis and coordination with Operations, Security, and HR.
- Develop, coordinate, and deliver EHS training, emergency preparedness activities, and safety awareness initiatives to promote a proactive safety culture.
- Maintain EHS documentation, permits, inspections, training records, compliance reports, and performance metrics, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Manage emergency preparedness and response programs, including drills, fire safety, spill response, and business continuity support.
- Monitor regulatory and industry developments, recommend continuous improvements to EHS programs and procedures, and perform other duties or projects as required to support KNDS Canada operations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive EHS experience in industrial, manufacturing, construction, defence, or similar environments.
- Working knowledge of applicable health, safety, environmental, and workers' compensation legislation.
- Experience with EHS programs, contractor safety, incident investigations, audits, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHS documentation systems.
- Professional EHS certification and the ability to obtain required security clearances are considered assets.
Pay: $85,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
