POSITION: Accounting Specialist – 12-month contract

Area of Accountability: We are seeking a sharp, ambitious professional to join our manufacturing finance team in a high-impact role with significant exposure to operations, and continuous improvement initiatives. Job Summary: This position will support the manufacturing finance function by delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and providing actionable insights to operations and leadership. This role plays a key part in month-end close, cash flow management, compliance, and ERP-driven financial processes. The position requires a detail-oriented, analytical professional who thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives while building expertise in manufacturing finance.
Major Responsibilities:
· Contribute to a disciplined and accelerated month-end close process, coordinating across departments to deliver accurate financial statements, meaningful variance analysis, and actionable business insights under tight deadlines.
· Oversee cash flow management and finance activities including payable, receivables, borrowing and investment.
· Monitor financial control systems and advise local management, regional and corporate head offices regarding status and improvement activities according to C-SOX/J-SOX requirements.
· Maintain and validate ERP BOM structures to support accurate costing, inventory valuation, and operational reporting integrity.
· Liaise with counterparts in customer, supplier and affiliated companies as needed.
· Manage relationships with domestic and Japanese banking institutions and external auditors.
· Assure corporate income tax, sales tax, and customs compliance.
· Develop, analyze and report periodic plan versus actual business performance, including recommendations for improvement.
· Join Plex ERP implementation team and apply advanced Excel capabilities including Power Query, pivot tables, and automation tools to analyze large and complex datasets.
· Participate in special projects and compile special reports as directed by the General Manager.
· Provide a positive, safe work environment and maintain a high level of morale within the company.
Minimum Qualifications:
· CPA designation or enrollment in the CPA program with strong technical accounting fundamentals.
· Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field (e.g., Finance, Business Administration, Economics).
· Knowledge of J-SOX and/or C-SOX requirements.
· Experience in manufacturing, cost accounting, or ERP-driven environments preferred.

Physical & Environmental Working Conditions:
This role is based in an office and manufacturing environment, and rarely will require presense on the production floor. The Accounting Specialist may be exposed to noise, moving equipment, and industrial processes typical of a manufacturing facility. Physical demands include prolonged periods of sitting and computer-based work. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn when accessing designated production or warehouse areas.

Pay: From $80,000.00 per year
