The Opportunity
The City of Dauphin is seeking a collaborative and community-focused Community Development Coordinator (CDC) to lead and support initiatives that enhance community well-being, safety, and social development.
The CDC plays a key role in advancing the Community Safety & Well-Being Plan by coordinating projects, fostering partnerships, and supporting data-informed decision-making. This position acts as a connector between the City, community organizations, service providers, and residents to drive meaningful measurable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
The City of Dauphin is looking for a highly motivated and professional person with the following education, skillsets, and qualities:
- Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, service providers and regional partners
- Coordinate the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the Community Safety & Well-Being Plan
- Develop and track work plans aligned with Council priorities
- Collect, analyze, and report on community data, trends, and outcomes to inform decision-making
- Support the development of funding proposals, grant applications, and program reporting
- Plan and facilitate public engagement activities, consultations, and community outreach initiatives
- Prepare reports, presentations, and briefing materials for senior administration and Council
- Identify emerging community needs and recommend responsive programs or policy approaches
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Social Sciences, Community Development, Public Administration, or a related field
- Experience in community development, stakeholder engagement, or project coordination
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Experience facilitating meetings and working with diverse or vulnerable populations
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a municipal or public sector environment
- Experience working with Indigenous communities and an understanding of Reconciliation principles
- Experience in grant writing, program develo0pment, or evaluation
- Familiarity with communication/design tools such (e.g., Canva)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
