Part-Time HR Advisor

A well-established not-for-profit gaming organization in Calgary is seeking an experienced and practical Part-Time HR Advisor to support a stable and long-tenured workforce. This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys building strong working relationships, supporting managers and employees, and helping organizations operate with professionalism, consistency, and care.
The successful candidate will bring broad human resources experience across recruitment, policy development, employee relations, training, and workforce administration, along with a solid understanding of Alberta and Canadian employment standards and workplace practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Support recruitment activities, including drafting postings, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and onboarding
- Develop, update, and implement HR policies, procedures, and employee documentation
- Draft and maintain job descriptions, employment agreements, and HR-related correspondence
- Provide practical guidance to leadership on employee relations and workplace matters
- Support scheduling coordination and workforce planning activities
- Assist with training coordination and employee development initiatives
- Ensure HR practices align with Alberta employment legislation and Canadian workplace standards
- Maintain confidential employee records and support HR administration processes
- Help foster a respectful, collaborative, and positive workplace culture
- Provide support for performance management and organizational planning initiatives as required
Qualifications & Experience
- Significant HR experience within established organizations with long-term employees
- Strong working knowledge of Alberta Employment Standards, occupational workplace norms, and Canadian HR practices
- Experience with recruitment, policy development, onboarding, and employee documentation
- Comfortable balancing structure, consistency, and practical problem-solving
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a professional and approachable style
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
- Experience supporting operational or shift-based environments is considered an asset
- HR designation (CPHR or working toward designation) is considered an asset
