Alta-Fab, based in Nisku, Alberta, provides high-quality modular buildings, designed to meet the industrial, public-space, and housing needs of any industry. We manufacture and service structures for markets that require personalized quality modular units. Year round indoor work.
***We are looking for experienced carpenters with 5 years + experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Study specifications in blueprints, sketches, or shop drawings to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required
- Prepare layouts and patterns using measuring tools, including selecting materials, planning sequences and methods of work to measure and mark materials
- Installation of cabinets, countertops
- Install steel and wood doors/frames and hardware
- Install small and large appliances (microwaves, fridges)
- Install electronics (stereos, speakers, DVD, surround systems)
- Insulate and panel interior walls
- Cut panels to size
- Cut out rough openings for outlets, waterlines, etc
- Accurately cut, measure, and shape various materials as required
- Recognize and identify quality issues in material and building procedures
- Other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications and work from sketches
- Proficient and able to work safely with a wide variety of hand and power tools and materials required of the trade
- Must be able to work independently or in a group/team setting as an effective learner / listener
- Currently indentured and apprenticing in the Apprentice and Industry Training Alberta considered an asset
- Skilled in the residential construction, repair, restoration and installation techniques for assigned work projects
- Ability to work in a physical demanding position and a fast paced team environment
- Ability to work in an indoor confined work area environment
- Current Fall Arrest certificate would be considered an asset
- Experience within modular construction and renovation industry an asset.
- Position requires vehicle to drive to an from Nisku on a daily basis
- Position requires strong English communication skills, including written, spoken and comprehension
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.00-$30.00 per hour
