Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team at various locations in Sherwood Park. This role is vital in fostering a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where young children can learn, grow, and develop essential skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and experience working with diverse groups of children, including those with special needs. Duties
- Plan and implement engaging educational activities tailored to the developmental needs of young children
- Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning
- Observe and assess children's progress, documenting developmental milestones and areas for growth
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to promote open communication and collaboration
- Support children's social-emotional development through guidance, encouragement, and appropriate behavioral strategies
- Assist with daily routines such as meal times, nap times, and outdoor play
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate children with disabilities or special needs, ensuring all children receive equitable support
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom materials and learning spaces
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in educational or caregiving settings is highly desirable
- Classroom experience in early childhood education or related fields is preferred
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is a valuable asset
- Demonstrated knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices in teaching young children
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with families, colleagues, and community partners
- Certification or training in early childhood education or caregiving is advantageous
