Position Title: Marketing Coordinator
Location: The Candora Society, Edmonton, AB
Employment Type: Full-time, 30 hours per week, 9 weeks (funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program)

ABOUT THE ROLE
CANDORA is looking for a Marketing Coordinator who will oversee the promotion and engagement of CANDORA Society’s programs and social ventures, including Auntie Bev's Frozen Meals, with a focus on increasing community participation. Responsibilities include managing social media content, creating promotional materials, organizing and supporting events (including farmers' markets), and gathering feedback to improve services. The coordinator will also assist in developing marketing strategies, maintain organized records, and report regularly to the Social Venture Manager. This role involves working closely with the community to raise awareness of CANDORA’s initiatives and support its mission, including the promotion of CANDORA’s social ventures.
DUTIES INCLUDED, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Manage and create content for CANDORA Society’s and CANDORA’s Social Ventures social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
- Prepare monthly newsletters to send out to our mailing list
- Assist in setting up, attending, and representing CANDORA Society at farmers’ markets and other outreach events
- Design and distribute promotional materials (flyers, posters, online ads) for events and programs
- Support the planning, organization, and execution of events such as workshops, resource fairs, meal programs, and farmers’ markets
- Collect feedback from community members through surveys and conversations to help improve services
- Assist in developing marketing strategies to raise awareness and increase participation in all CANDORA initiatives
- Maintain organized records of marketing activities, community feedback, and event participation
- Prepare regular updates and reports for the Social Venture Manager and other managers as needed
- Help build partnerships with community organizations and businesses to support CANDORA events and programs
- Monitor and track marketing performance (social media engagement, event attendance, etc.)
- Support branding consistency across all CANDORA materials and communications
- Assist with creating simple graphics, videos, or written stories to highlight CANDORA’s impact
- Attend team meetings and participate in planning sessions as required
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Marketing knowledge or experience is considered an asset
- Prior experience in using Microsoft Office computer software programs and other office equipment
- Experience with Canva, Meta Suite, and Mail Chimp considered an asset
- Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal and team skills
- Self-directed, and an ability to work with minimal supervision
- Commitment to the vision, mission, values, and beliefs of the CANDORA Society
- Strong orientation to community oriented, relationship-based work including an awareness of and sensitivity to issues of participants/community members
- Clear understanding of professional boundaries and ethics
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Police Security Check and Child Welfare Check required
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
To be eligible for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number and be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Not be an immediate family member of an employee of CANDORA
Employment type: Temporary full-time position (30 hours per week) for 9 weeks
Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 10:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., except Wednesdays from 2:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. (30 hours per week). Schedule may vary based on events and operational needs
Expected Start Date: June 15 or 22, 2026
Wage: $15.00/hour
