Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Formworker / Operator to join our construction team. This role involves building and installing formwork for concrete structures, operating heavy equipment, and supporting various phases of construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with concrete forming, and the ability to work with a variety of hand and power tools. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to large-scale renovation, restoration, and new construction projects in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
Formwork Duties:
- Construct, install, and dismantle formwork for concrete footings, slabs, stairs and other structures using carpentry skills and hand tools
- Operate heavy equipment such as cranes, forklifts, or skid steers safely and efficiently
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and schematics to ensure accurate form placement and alignment
- Install rebar reinforcement and support structures as required for stability and safety
- Perform concrete finishing tasks including smoothing, leveling, caulking, and sealing surfaces
- Assist with masonry work and other related construction activities
- Support renovation projects by restoring existing structures with appropriate techniques
- Use power tools safely for cutting, drilling, grinding, and other tasks
- Follow safety protocols at all times to maintain a secure work environment
Equipment Operation:
- Operate equipment such as skid steers, excavators, telehandlers, aerial work platforms, compactors, or other machinery as required
- Perform pre-operational inspections and basic maintenance
- Identify and report mechanical issues
- Ensure safe operation around crew members and the public
- Follow site plans and supervisor instructions accurately
Skills & Qualifications
- Mechanical knowledge related to construction equipment and tools
- Experience with rebar installation, concrete forming, masonry, and concrete finishing
- Proficiency in carpentry skills including framing and form building
- Ability to operate heavy machinery such as telehandlers, skid steers, or safely
- Skilled in the use of hand tools (hammers, saws) and power tools (drills, grinders)
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Knowledge of restoration techniques and renovation processes
- Experience with welding and flooring installation is a plus
- Strong understanding of safety procedures on construction sites
- Physical ability for heavy lifting and working in demanding environments
