For summer students participating in the On-Campus Interview (OCI) process, application deadlines may be earlier than the application deadlines set out by the Vancouver Bar Association, as posted below. Contact your Career Services Office at your Law School for the applicable OCI deadlines.

- Application Deadline: Friday, August 14, 2026 at 11:59pm PT
- Interview Call Day: Friday, October 2, 2026 at 8:00am PT
- Interview Week: Monday, October 19, 2026 – Wednesday, October 21, 2026
- Job Offer Call Day: Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at 5:00pm PT (offers open until Thursday, October 22, 2026 at 5:00pm PT)
Applicants must be qualified for enrollment as temporary articling students by the Law Society of British Columbia.
Your application package must include the following:
- a cover letter,
- resume,
- undergraduate transcript, latest Law School transcript and
- name, title, phone number and email address of three (3) references we can contact.
The detailed cover letter provides an opportunity for the candidate to describe how they meet the skills and attributes identified as well as explain why they want to work in the public sector and particularly at the Department of Justice.

For References to make a meaningful contribution, they should have had an adequate opportunity to observe the applicant so that they are able to provide constructive comments regarding the consistency and quality of the applicant's behaviour. Please indicate on the list of names where you worked with the reference and in what capacity (for example, supervisor, professor, or stakeholder).
