REGULAR FULL-TIME SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the Manager, Finance, this position will assume a lead role in reviewing various balance sheet account reconciliations, and assist with the monitoring, preparation, and analysis of all aspects of reporting, and yearend audit, adding value to the company as a whole by providing financial expertise and experience. The successful candidate for this position must be team-orientated and have a positive and confident personality with a high degree of ethical soundness.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Approve and post journal entries prepared by finance staff
· Month and year end GL reconciliations as assigned
· Preparation of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting.
· Preparation and review and analysis of associated reconciliations and variances as required
· Assist with the annual financial audit as required
· Analysis and review of financial information as required, and development of internal reports as required to communicate these results to management
· Analysis of the financial implications of various operational and financial decisions
· Take the lead on the Affordable Home Ownership Program including, but not limited to answering queries, and communication with homeowners, prepare written correspondence for review and approval by Manager, review payout calculations and annual income reviews
· Work with Managers to evaluate and streamline business processes to improve efficiency
· Mentor finance team members as required
· Research accounting issues, evaluate reporting, and other control functions, and make recommendations for change
· Preparation of all operating & capital grant reporting
· Month end and year end GL account reconciliations as assigned by the Manager, Finance
· Other related duties and special projects as required.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
Education
· University degree in Commerce, Accounting or Finance
· Professional Accounting designation (CPA), or in final stages of completion
· 5-7 years accounting experience
· Experience with ERP software, Yardi software experience preferred
Skills
· Demonstrated organization, communication, interpersonal, analytical and team membership and leadership skills with the ability to prioritize conflicting demands in a deadline orientated environment requiring persistence and a high degree of personal judgment and account

· Proven ability to work with limited supervision, use initiative and creative thinking in various functions within the job
WORKING CONDITIONS:
· Normal office conditions and regular hours of work
· Evenings and weekends as required

SALARY:
$51.11 per hour **

**Cost of Living Allowance of $480 bi-weekly included in rate of pay and is based on full-time hours worked.
