OMEX Agriculture Inc. is currently looking for an energetic, organized, team-oriented individual to fill the position of Liquid Fertilizer Mixer/Operator to support its production team in achieving production goals, improving processes, and assisting in all aspects of plant and warehouse operation. The selected candidate will be based at our head office in Oak Bluff, MB.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the successful candidate must demonstrate the ability, knowledge and experience relevant to this position and will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Mixing, producing and manufacturing of product blends;
- Assisting with paperwork as required;
- Planning and monitoring raw material needs to meet demand;
- Designing and implementing plans to increase productivity and efficiency;
- Providing direction and coordination of all assigned operational activities;
- Contributing to the team, encouraging open communication and providing input regarding production, safety and quality issues;
- Adhering to GMP’s and Health and Safety Procedures in place.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years experience in fertilizer manufacturing and/or pharmaceutical manufacturing is a strong asset;
- Forklift experience is REQUIRED.
- Experience with production systems and processes;
- Demonstrated ability to manage a small team while creating a positive work environment;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong ability to communicate with all levels of associates and teams;
- Proven analytical, decision-making, and problem solving skills
- Must be willing to work extended long hours during peak season; weekend and off-shift hours may be required;
- Detail-oriented with good organizational skills, ability to multi-task effectively
- Willing to continuously learn new tasks (cross training)
Physical Requirements:
- Lift and dump bags up to 50 pounds;
- Sit and stand for long periods of time, use a computer.
- Use equipment in the plant and warehouse;
- MUST be okay working in cold, warm and humid weather.
- Have a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
