Busy and locally owned and operated truck and trailer repair shop is seeking Apprentices in their 3rd to 4th year, and/or Journeyman heavy duty technicians to join our team.
Our technician’s duties include but are not limited to; inspecting, diagnosing, and servicing repairs to trucks and trailers that may be related to mechanical and electronic systems.
Having a vast knowledge on components of commercial transport trucks and trailers that can include chassis, frames, cab, body, engine and drive train, air brakes, fuel and hydraulic systems, electronics and wiring using conventional and specialized tools for commercial repair.
Education and requirements:
Journeyman red seal certificate, or Completion of 3rd to 4th year schooling with certification for Heavy Equipment Technician.
Valid class 1 or 3 license with airbrake endorsement and driving experience an asset
Must have CAT and Cummins engine experience and knowledge
Have own tools with tool box
Knowledge on the commercial vehicle inspection program, and completing safety’s
Skills and assets:
Ability to work with minimal supervision at times
Leadership skills and guidance to apprentices
Ability to use computers and diagnostic equipment for job related tasks
Must be able to work in a high pressure environment
Must be able to present yourself in a positive and professional manner to colleagues and customers
Position Information:
Full Time Hours - Daytime shifts can run between 7:00am to 6:00pm. Monday to Friday.
Weekends - Saturday only work (on rotation, half days, or a needed)
