Summary
The Warehouse Order Picker is responsible for accurately selecting, scanning, and packing customer orders, in a fast-paced logistics environment. Safely operates motorized Material Handling Equipment, such as forklifts or motorized walkies, to pick finished goods according to customer sales orders. Palletizes, scans and wraps the order, ensuring inventory accuracy and stages it for Shipper Receivers to load the trucks.

- Use forklift or motorized walkie to pick items for customer orders and prepare for shipping, including scanning, stacking, and wrapping products
- Match product with purchase orders / shipping orders to ensure accuracy of quantities and product type and condition
- Inspect product to ensure saleable condition with acceptable code dating
- Conduct daily equipment inspections to confirm safe operating condition
- Operate a Forklift or motorized walkie in a safe manner to move product in the warehouse
- Maintain a safe work environment and report any near miss, damage or incidents immediately
- Perform quality audits of the condition of shipped goods for outgoing items prior to signing off
- Report discrepancies to immediate supervisor
- Maintain clean, organized work area according to policies, procedures and safety regulations
- Collaborate with warehouse and inventory teams
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience
- Forklift and motorized walkie certification required
- Experience in the chilled and frozen warehouse industry preferred
- Working experience in Shipping, Receiving, and Order Picking required
- Ability to stand, walk, bend and perform repetitive heavy lifting (up to 23 kgs) for extended periods
- Able to communicate both verbally and in writing
- Basic mathematical skills
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
- Familiarity with shipping documentation and freight processes
- Follow all Forklift safety policies, processes, practices
- Ability to scan, weigh or measure items
- Working knowledge of safe lifting methods
- Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently
- Adherence to health and safety and food safety requirements
- Computer literacy, including working skills of Excel and e-mail, and using WMS, ERP or logistics software preferred
- Attention to detail in all areas of work
- Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
- Exposure to vibration from forklift driving
- Overtime as required
- Lifting or moving up to 23 kgs may be required
- Work is performed in a combination of environments, including coolers and freezers (-18 degrees C)
- This position may be exposed to elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes and oils
- Repetitive tasks within a fast-paced environment

Please note that the pay range for the Warehouse Order Picker is $23–$25 per hour, depending on experience. there will be a $1.50 shift premium for every hour worked.
