Your Position: We’re looking for someone to be a part of our Quality Team as a Quality Coordinator. You would be contributing to the team by:
- Completing PPAPs – this would include completing documentation yourself as well as coordinating contributions from others in the department
- Responding to customer quality requests – this encompasses capability studies, dimensional data, samples, material certificates, conflict mineral reports, and all other miscellaneous requests
Your team will include Process Engineers, the General Manager as well as Quality Inspectors and Operators.
Your Pay: Pay range is $22 - $28 / hr to start based upon experience, your ability to be productive independently and your contribution to the alfa team. We review pay annually and it increases with ability as well as dedication and effort (e.g. how independent you are; your knowledge of your daily tasks; your attendance and punctuality; in a small company we know WHO does WHAT! Your effort will not go unnoticed here).
Your Shift: The Quality Coordinator is a day shift position, typical hours are from 7:00 am – 4:30 pm
Your Working Conditions: The Quality Coordinator will spend 60% of their time in the office environment and 40% of their time in the plant. Walking and lifting will be part of your daily routine. Walking around the plant is encouraged as it gets your familiar with our people and process and it’s great exercise!
Your Responsibilities:
- Completing PPAPs and related documentation as per customer requirements
- Conducting annual document reviews for all alfa parts and cascading corrections as required
- Responding to all customer and government documentation requests including (but not limited to) dimensional results, capability studies, and quality reports
- Taking initiative to organize the quality department and ensuring projects are completed accurately and on time
- Be a part of the Corrective Action Team whenever there is an internal or external quality issue and contribute as required
What skills you should have:
- Knowledge of PPAPs and associated documentation including work instructions
- Knowledge of precision measuring devices
- Ability to read a part drawing and interpret customer requirements
- Proven ability to prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks with strict attention to detail
- Strong organization and record keeping skills
- Demonstrated strong work ethic with a determination to complete duties well and on time
- Commitment and responsibility towards quality of work completed daily
- Comfortable working in a factory environment
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
- Proficient with computers in general, but specifically in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to understand machining is an asset
What experience you should have:
- 3 to 5 years quality experience
- 2 or more years using Connected Accounting or equivalent (preferred)
- Experience working in a small organization
- Experience with measuring devices used on metal parts is an asset
