Southwood Regency Retirement Resort is seeking a friendly, professional, and experienced Hairdresser/Stylist to provide salon services to our residents in a warm and welcoming retirement community. This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate individual who enjoys building meaningful relationships with seniors while helping them look and feel their best.
Position Summary
The Hairdresser/Stylist is responsible for providing a range of hair care services to residents, including haircuts, styling, shampoos, sets, perms, and coloring services. The successful candidate will create a positive salon experience while maintaining a clean, safe, and professional environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide quality hairdressing and styling services to residents.
- Consult with residents to understand their preferences and needs.
- Perform haircuts, shampoos, blow-drying, styling, coloring, and perming services.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards for all tools, equipment, and salon areas.
- Manage appointment scheduling and resident bookings.
- Foster positive relationships with residents and their families.
- Maintain inventory of salon supplies and notify management of replenishment needs.
- Follow all health, safety, and infection-control procedures.
Qualifications
- Valid Hairdressing/Cosmetology certification or license.
- Previous experience as a hairstylist or hairdresser.
- Experience working with seniors is an asset but not required.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Professional, reliable, and compassionate demeanor.
- Ability to work independently and manage appointments effectively.
