Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Truss Designer to join our Lumber team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating precise truss designs that meet project specifications and safety standards. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative building projects, utilizing advanced CAD and drafting tools. The Truss Designer will collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction teams to ensure designs are efficient, accurate, and compliant with industry standards.
Duties
- Develop detailed truss designs using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or MicroStation, ISmart, IStruct.
- Create schematics and technical drawings that accurately represent structural components.
- Utilize SketchUp, NavisWorks, Civil 3D, and SolidWorks for modeling and visualization of truss systems.
- Collaborate with project teams to interpret architectural plans and engineering specifications.
- Ensure all designs adhere to safety codes, building regulations, and client requirements.
- Prepare detailed documentation for manufacturing and construction processes.
- Review and revise designs based on feedback from engineers and project managers.
- Assist in creating 2D animations or visual presentations to illustrate design concepts when needed.
- Maintain organized records of design files and project documentation.
Experience
- Proven experience of 2 years in structural drafting or design, specifically with truss systems or similar frameworks.
- Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, MicroStation, SolidWorks, Schematics, and Drafting tools.
- Familiarity with construction processes and building codes relevant to structural design.
- Experience working on residential, commercial, or industrial projects is preferred.
- Knowledge of 2D animation techniques for technical presentations is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.

Pay: $65,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
