Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced 5 Ton/Van Courier Driver to join our logistics team. This role involves safely transporting goods and packages to various destinations, ensuring timely deliveries, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of commercial driving regulations, possess excellent communication skills, and be capable of heavy lifting and moving items efficiently.
Duties
- Safely operate a 5-ton truck or van to deliver packages across designated routes
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or manual handling techniques
- Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and on schedule
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and any issues
- Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the vehicle throughout the shift
- Assist with warehouse tasks including moving inventory, organizing stock, and preparing shipments for delivery
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws during transportation
- Keep detailed records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption
Qualifications
- Valid Class 5 drivers license
- Prior experience in commercial driving, warehouse operations, or logistics preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical movement of goods
- Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and team members
- Experience operating forklifts or other warehouse equipment is a plus
- Good organizational skills with attention to detail
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to moving cargo and operating vehicles
- Reliable transportation to reach the starting location each day
