Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Restaurant General Manager to lead our team and oversee daily operations at our busy dining establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for food service, and a comprehensive understanding of restaurant management. This role involves managing staff, ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining food safety standards, and driving overall restaurant success. Previous experience in food industry settings such as hospitality, hotel management, or barista roles is highly valued. The Restaurant General Manager will play a pivotal role in creating a welcoming environment while ensuring operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise restaurant staff, including hiring, training, and conducting interviews to build a cohesive team.
- Oversee daily restaurant operations to ensure smooth service flow and high-quality customer experiences.
- Manage food preparation and cooking processes to meet quality standards and food safety regulations.
- Handle cash transactions, POS systems such as Toast POS, and ensure accurate cash handling procedures.
- Monitor food handling practices, sanitation, and safety protocols in compliance with health regulations.
- Implement effective team management strategies to motivate staff and improve performance.
- Ensure proper food industry standards are maintained across all departments, including kitchen and serving areas.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff on food preparation, menu execution, and inventory management.
- Maintain excellent customer service by addressing guest concerns promptly and professionally.
- Oversee restaurant cleanliness, safety procedures, and adherence to hospitality standards.
- Manage scheduling, inventory control, and supply ordering to optimize operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience in restaurant management or related hospitality roles.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Extensive knowledge of food service operations, including food preparation, cooking, and food safety standards.
- Experience with POS systems such as Toast POS; familiarity with cash handling procedures is essential.
- Background in food handling, kitchen experience, or serving within the food industry is highly desirable.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to resolve issues diplomatically.
- Knowledge of restaurant management best practices and hospitality industry standards.
- Experience with interviewing staff candidates and building high-performing teams.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in all aspects of restaurant operations.
