Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Dispatcher to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating freight shipments, managing transportation schedules, and ensuring efficient communication across supply chain operations. This role requires strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The Dispatcher plays a critical role in maintaining smooth operations within our transportation and logistics network, supporting both internal teams and external partners.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule freight shipments using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to optimize delivery routes and timelines.
- Manage shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate data entry and documentation for all shipments.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, suppliers, and customers via multi-line phone systems, maintaining professional phone etiquette.
- Monitor freight status updates, troubleshoot issues, and provide timely solutions to minimize delays.
- Analyze shipping data to identify trends or inefficiencies and recommend improvements for supply chain processes.
- Maintain detailed records of dispatch activities, shipment statuses, and related documentation.
- Collaborate with 3PL providers and internal teams to coordinate logistics operations seamlessly.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all dispatch activities.
Requirements
- Strong data entry skills with high typing accuracy and proficiency in multi-line phone systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with professional phone etiquette.
- Analytical skills to interpret shipping data and identify operational improvements.
- Knowledge of supply chain management principles and freight logistics.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with 3PL providers is preferred but not required.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic setting.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
