Job Summary
The Inn at Huff Estates is a 21-room boutique accommodation located in the heart of Prince Edward County. The property also features an on-site winery, art gallery, and sculpture garden.
We are seeking a skilled Housekeeping Attendant to help maintain our Inn facilities with a high level of care and attention to detail.
The ideal candidate is energetic, reliable, and detail-oriented, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team while meeting deadlines.
Previous housekeeping experience is considered an asset; however, we are willing to train individuals who are eager to learn and grow in the role.
Schedule:
- Shifts run between 8:30 am and 3:00 pm with staggered starts. Shifts are typically 4-6 hours
- Expected hours: 10 - 30 per week
- Weekend and holiday availability is required.
- This is a seasonal position
Responsibilities include:
- Sweep, mop, wash and polish floors
- Laundry and Folding of linens
- Cleaning restrooms
- Dusting furniture and fixtures
- Dishes, polishing of stemware
- Vacuuming carpets, rugs draperies and upholstered furniture
- Making & changing beds
- Supply rooms with toiletries, towels, linens
- Log and sort lost and found items
- Clean debris and empty recycling and trash bins
- Cleaning windows and glass
- Report any maintenance issues or damages observed during cleaning to management
- Guest Patio re-sets/cleaning
- Friendly and helpful with any guest requests and questions
- Boardroom & Courtyard room set-up &/or clean-up
- Assist in keeping walking paths clear, salted in inclement weather
- Safety Compliance: Follow safety regulations, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals
- Previous hotel cleaning and customer service experience are an asset
- The successful applicant must be physically capable of performing repetitive work, standing and walking for extended periods of time. Must be physically able to lift and carry 25-30 lbs, including pushing equipment. Must be physically able to stoop, kneel, reach, stand, walk, bend, twist, push, see and navigate stairs without difficulty.
Qualifications
- Must be legally able to work in Canada. We are unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization at this time.
- Previous hotel cleaning and customer service experience are an asset
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Stand or walk for an extended period of time.
- A positive attitude, team player and commitment to providing outstanding service.
- Must be comfortable speaking to guests
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Bloomfield, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
- The Inn at Huff Estates is located just off Hwy 62 on County Road 1, approximately 15 minutes from the Bay Bridge in Belleville.
- Own transportation required
Experience:
- Cleaning: 1 year (preferred)
