Allergy Physicians Calgary is a highly respected and busy SW allergy practice in Calgary. We provide care to both the adult and pediatric population. We strive to make a difference in allergy services in Calgary, by practicing evidence based, high quality patient-centered care.
We are looking for a casual/part-time LPN in our clinic. You will be working 0745 -1530/1600 and Fridays 0745-1230. Saturdays occasionally.
We will train you for all the medical aspects below. However, what is expected is the application of your knowledge base in managing patients and willingness along with enthusiasm to learn.
Responsibilities and Duties for Clinic:
- Get rooms ready for patients and prepare for allergy testing each morning
- Prepare allergy skin prick test scratch trays – reorder supplies if needed
- Skin testing, reading results and notifying MD. Other procedures as ordered
- Patient education regarding medications and environmental control
- Documentation in EMR (Med Access Telus)
- Keep clinical area and exam rooms organized and stocked with supplies
- Other relevant duties as assigned by office manager, charge nurse or head nurse.
Responsibilities and Duties for Administrative work:
- Although there are Medical Office Assistants on staff, should the MOAs be unavailable, your tasks will also be:
- Front Office Responsibilities when Medical Office Assistants are not at desk
- Schedule appointments
- Answer phones when needed
Qualifications and Skills
- Diploma in Nursing (LPN)
- EMR experience (Med Access experience is an asset)
- Ability to work with patients directly and pleasantly
- Ability to work with other staff members
- Ability to work independently
- Computer skills required
Required license or certification:
- Minimum LPN, with Alberta Certification
Salary
- Salary: $25.00-$28.00 per hour
