Summary
MiLo Group Ltd. is looking for a Low Voltage Apprentice to join our dynamic team. This is a full-time, field-based role, travel is required.
Responsibilities
- Installation, termination and testing of CAT-6/6A and fiber optic communication cabling
- Installation and termination of CAT-6/6A patch panels
- Use of Copper Cabling certification tools
- Installation of fiber optic enclosures, bulk heads and termination of mechanical fiber optic connectors as well as fusion splicing
- Use of OTDR fiber testing tools
- Installation of security and control related wiring; Banana Wire, 22/4, 18/2
- Installing cabling in conduit and open ceiling spaces (J-hooks)
- Finishing and installing devices of various types
- Deploy wireless access points and other PoE devices
- Adhere to safety protocols
- Possess willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
- Time Management and Leadership qualities
- Network topology knowledge
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities and work in team environment
Qualifications
- Industry training and experience with various structured cabling systems (Panduit, Corning, Commscope are preferred)
- Commercial construction experience
- Read and decipher blueprints
- Experience in rough-in of card access and intrusion alarm wiring (preferred)
- Experience installing conduit (preferred)
- Fall Protection
- MEWP/Aerial Platform
- WHIMIS (preferred)
- CSTS (preferred)
- First Aid (preferred)
- Possess a valid class 5 operators license
