Your Responsibilities
Manage special projects according to requests from the sales group;
Improve the design of lighting fixtures, taking into account budgets and schedules;
Master and apply safety standards specific to the lighting market (e.g., AASHTO, ANSI, ASTM, etc.);
Respect quality procedures relating to product design and engineering;
Select materials and components according to the application;
Promote a high level of quality and rigor in the department;
Keep standard documents up to date;
Participate in testing, installations, and machine services for the projects/contracts to which he is assigned when required;
Provide other departments with technical expertise;
Document projects and their critical aspects to ensure the integrity of our concepts;
Promote good practices in technical drawings (welding symbol, drilling dimensions, etc.);
Carry out analyses using mechanical calculations and finite element simulation;
All other related tasks.
Education + Experience Required
BAC in mechanical engineering;
5 years or more of relevant experience in product design;
Be a member in good standing of the OIQ.
Experience in structure (asset).
1-2 years of experience in the lighting industry or related industry (asset).
Knowledge of CSA S6:19 et AASHTO LRFDLTS-1 standards (asset).
Qualifications + Skills Required
A master of SolidWorks and its simulation modules;
Thoroughly bilingual (spoken and written French and English). The position holder will be required to interact daily with international colleagues, clients, and partners who do not speak French;
Have the ability to organize yourself to manage a multitude of priorities and tasks; be "results" oriented;
Demonstrate communication and negotiation skills, autonomy, initiative and organizational skills;
Be team-orientated and be open to changes;
Be committed to excellence in customer service.
