We are looking for a Camp Nurse to oversee the health and wellbeing of campers and staff during the summer season at a coed sleepaway summer camp for kids age 7-17. This is a unique opportunity for a nurse who enjoys working with children and being part of a vibrant outdoor camp community. The Camp nurse lives onsite and is responsible for the coordination of daily healthcare needs for campers and staff.
Transportation to and from our location is provided. Room and board with private living space, all meals included. During your time off enjoy the use of all our facilities including: canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding, climbing, swimming and more!
Responsibilities
Provide first aid and basic medical care
- Administer and track camper medications
- Maintain confidential health records
- Monitor campers with medical needs (allergies, asthma, etc.)
- Respond to medical situations and coordinate care if needed
- Communicate with camp leadership and parents regarding health concerns
Qualifications
- RN, LPN/RPN (or eligible to practice in Ontario)
- Currently enrolled in an accredited RN or LPN program (2nd year or higher preferred)
- CPR & First Aid certification
- Experience with children or youth is an asset
- Ability to work independently in a camp environment
