Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice On MONDAY WITH A POTENTIAL TO INCREASE MORE DAYS OVER THE TIME. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental office. This position requires a proactive individual who is passionate about dentistry and has experience in various specialties, including pediatrics and orthodontics.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
- Provide excellent patient care by explaining treatment procedures and answering any questions patients may have.
- Maintain accurate patient records using dental software such as Dentrix, ensuring all medical terminology is correctly documented.
- Sterilize instruments and maintain cleanliness of the treatment area to adhere to infection control protocols.
- Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and perform duties related to dental reception when necessary.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure high-quality care for patients of all ages.
Requirements
- Previous experience in dental assisting is preferred. We strongly welcome applications from foreign-trained Dentists, especially those who have experience working as dental assistants or are currently in the process of becoming licensed in Canada.
- Familiarity with dental software systems such as Dentrix.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry is essential.
- Strong communication skills with a focus on patient interaction and comfort.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
- Certification in dental assisting or relevant training is highly desirable.
