POSITION OVERVIEW
This entry level to intermediate level role is a full-time position required to support our Materials Testing Center and Failure Analysis team. The primary goal of the material testing team is to evaluate materials and equipment failures to determine material properties, condition, and failure cause and to provide solutions for our clients. We specialize in materials and corrosion including high temperature, sour service, microbiologically influenced corrosion, and environmentally assisted cracking mechanisms. We also provide corrosion and materials support and materials selection for emerging markets such as carbon dioxide, hydrogen, and a variety of renewable energy technologies. Our pressure equipment and pipeline divisions support compliance, inspection, and asset integrity services. This is an excellent development opportunity to launch into a career of materials engineering, corrosion, asset integrity and inspection.
This position is required to provide support to the laboratory team in terms of maintaining and setting up equipment and samples for testing. Ensuring clean work areas and performing maintenance and odd jobs around the Testing Center. It also requires moving, cutting and preparing samples for analysis. Field travel and testing in boilers and pressure equipment using in-situ metallographic and hardness testing equipment is required. This role is hands-on and requires good physical ability and can lead to progression within Group 10 as this role is the foundation of learning for the Group 10 Materials Testing Center.
