★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★
Bossa Embroidery is a growing embroidery business in Etobicoke. Customer garments come in, go onto our machines, and go back out looking better than they arrived. This role is the last set of hands on almost every one of them.
We need someone fast, careful, and reliable to own garment finishing and get orders out the door on time. No embroidery experience needed. We will train you.
PAY AND SCHEDULE
- $19.00 per hour to start
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, 40 hours per week
- Occasional early, evening, or weekend hours in busy periods, with as much notice as we can give
- Paid 30-minute lunch
- Free on-site parking
- Vacation pay on every cheque or banked, semi-monthly direct deposit
WHAT YOU WILL DO EVERY DAY
- Trim excess embroidery threads and remove backing and stabilizer
- Clean and inspect finished garments for quality issues
- Steam, fold, and package completed orders
- Count garments and verify order quantities against the order
- Sort by customer and order, and stage completed work for pickup or shipping
- Receive, sort, and stage incoming garments for production
- Share facility cleanup with the team, including the production floor, kitchen, and washrooms
- Pitch in wherever the production team needs a hand
WHAT YOU GET
- Real training. You get taught the job properly instead of thrown at it, and then taught more of the operation as you go.
- Room to earn more. This is an entry-level role starting at $19.00. Pay here grows with responsibility, and we have team members earning well above this rate.
- We want you using AI. Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini are encouraged here on company devices.
- A small team and no layers. You work directly with the owner. Good ideas get acted on, not filed.
SPEED IS KING
We are not looking for someone frantic. We are looking for someone genuinely quick who stays quick. Real speed is a steady, productive pace across your entire shift, whether the day is packed or slow. If you finish your work early, you find the next thing.
If you know you work slowly and prefer it that way, this is not the right fit for you, and we would rather say so now than three weeks in.
LET'S BE HONEST ABOUT THE WORK
- This is repetitive, hands-on work. You will trim threads and fold garments for hours at a time.
- You will be on your feet for most of the shift.
- You will lift and carry boxes of garments, typically 10 to 30 lbs.
- We handle expensive customer property, so the production floor runs by strict rules. We will walk you through them at the interview.
WHO YOU ARE
- Fast, and consistently fast. Not frantic, not slow. You hold a strong pace all day without being pushed.
- Reliable. You are here on time and we can count on your schedule. This is the single most important thing on this list.
- Detail-oriented. You notice the small things, like a crooked logo or a thread that got missed, before they leave the building.
- Self-directed. When you finish something, you find the next thing yourself.
- Resourceful, then vocal. You try to figure it out first. Still unsure, you ask once and you remember the answer.
WHERE THIS CAN GO
This role starts in finishing, but it does not have to end there. As you show us you are fast and careful, we will train you in other parts of the operation: preparing and hooping garments, basic embroidery production, operating our machines, DTF transfers and heat press application, and other finishing processes. As you take on more, your pay grows with it.
Nice to have, not required: any hands-on production, warehouse, or garment work. Embroidery, DTF, heat press, sewing, alterations, apparel manufacturing, screen printing, or promotional products experience means you get trained up faster. We have hired great people with none of it.
OUR HIRING PROCESS
- Step 1: Application and 1-Minute Video. Apply through our form and record a quick 1-minute video on your phone. Do not overthink it. Tell us who you are and tell us about the fastest-paced job you have had. Applications without a video are not reviewed.
- Step 2: The Interview. If your video looks like a good fit, we will invite you in. You will spend the first few minutes doing the actual work at a table on our production floor, then we sit down and talk. Plan for about half an hour.
- Step 3: The Offer. If we both agree it is a match, we will make you an offer. We aim to go from application to decision within two weeks.
