Position Summary
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of property maintenance, repair, and preventative maintenance programs at the Home2 Suites by Hilton Barrie. This role ensures the hotel remains safe, fully operational, and maintained to Hilton brand standards at all times. The Maintenance Manager will lead maintenance operations, respond to guest and operational requests, and support the overall functionality and appearance of the hotel.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily maintenance and repair operations of the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, mechanical systems, and exterior grounds.
- Implement and manage preventative maintenance programs to ensure all equipment and systems operate efficiently.
- Respond promptly to guest service requests and maintenance issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Conduct regular inspections of the property to identify and address maintenance needs.
- Maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, and life safety systems in working order.
- Coordinate and oversee work performed by outside contractors and service providers.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, fire, and building code regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work orders, inspections, and equipment servicing.
- Manage inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment.
- Support hotel renovations, upgrades, and capital improvement projects as required.
- Work closely with the Front Office and Housekeeping departments to ensure seamless hotel operations.
- Participate in emergency procedures and be available for on-call maintenance support as needed.
- Assist in training staff on safety procedures and equipment use.
- Ensure the hotel meets Hilton brand standards for quality, safety, and guest satisfaction.
- Strong communication skills in English for effective team coordination and reporting
Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of maintenance or engineering experience in a hotel or commercial facility required.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and WHMIS standards.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and respond to urgent situations.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Trade certification or technical training considered an asset.

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
