Vistech Manufacturing, Ontario is a Tier 2 automotive manufacturing company, who manufacture and assemble carpet and trim underlay, as well as assemble interior trim components. Our major customers include Toyota and Honda.
We are currently seeking candidate to join our growing team. Responsibilities include the following:
- Provide leadership on the production floor to ensure high productivity, morale, and safety.
- Monitor daily production schedules based on customer releases.
- Meet and maintain finished & WIP inventories set by management.
- Ensure production reporting and inventory accuracy by cycle counts.
- Interface with Production Manager to support production and avoid line down shortages or missed shipment to customers.
- Maximize usage of available systems to increase schedule effectiveness and efficiency of data entry.
- Aware of any deviation from current schedule and will take appropriate action to either correct the shortfall or advise the Production Manager of the required corrective action exceeds his/her authority or available resources.
- Responsible for production efficiency and scrap.
- Prepare analysis and reporting of production efficiency and productivity.
- Maintain Kanban system on all work cells.
- Participate in corrective action meeting that required by the customer/supplier.
- Propose layout changes to increase productivity.
- Ensure that finished goods are available to support 100% on time shipments to customers.
- Ensure all parts produced meet the approved “first-off’s” and work with Q.A. to maximize process capability.
- Rigorously enforce all quality procedures.
- Demonstrate leadership role in all areas of quality.
- Responsible for identifying kaizen’s and any work cell improvements, identifying work instruction changes/updates, and other improvements to help make jobs easier and more efficient through suggestions and implementation.
- Responsible for implementing rework procedures plant wide to reduce scrap.
- Promote a positive team approach through leadership by example.
- Promote pride of workmanship, urgency, consistency, and punctuality.
- Inform Human Resources of employee relations issues and manpower issues.
- Ensure all equipment and raw goods are ready at the start of shift.
- Monitor humidity and ensure heat breaks are taken as required.
- Perform machine changeovers.
- Maintain up to date and current work instructions and other paperwork.
- Deal with employee issues in a confidential manner.
- Verification of loads as required.
- Maintain consistent communication with all employees.
- Promote and encourage a cross functional environment.
- Identify training needs to assist employees in achieving optimum performance.
- Ensure proper disciplinary actions are taken to control unacceptable performance.
- Report any unsafe acts/conditions to Management.
- Complete incident reports accordingly.
- Ensure full compliance to safety in the workplace.
- Implement and maintain work instructions.
- Work with Management Team to assist with new launch programs and ongoing Kaizen initiatives.
- Maintain communication with all levels of the organization.
- Schedule, promote, implement and maintain 5S activities aimed at maintaining a clean, organized and orderly environment.
- Follow JIT system.
In this role, you will report directly to the Operations Manager.
Production Shifts Include:
Days - 7:00am - 3:00pm
Afternoons - 3:00pm - 11:00pm
Midnights - 11:00pm - 7:00am
