The Counter Sales position is responsible for greeting customers and receiving and generating their orders efficiently and effectively. To, always, provide courteous, prompt, and efficient service to customers and give them the upmost of assistance with regards to product availability, pricing and sourcing of material. To display an ongoing commitment to understand, promote and believe in the Gerrie commitment of being a service quality organization and to strive to maintain and continue to seek ways to improve the overall service quality.
CUSTOMER SERVICE/SALES
Maintain friendly service and a positive company image.
Service customer needs promptly and efficiently, addressing customer questions or concerns.
Handle customer returns/defectives.
Handle customer orders.
Provide assistance/backup in shipping and receiving when required.
Promoting products, contributing to branch sales.
Direct sales services of the general public.
Provide pricing and availability.
Enter customer orders into the business system as per Gerrie procedures.
PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE
Maintaining current knowledge of electrical industry/products.
Develop knowledge about substitutes.
Be able to source products and provide technical information.
Continue to develop your skill set as it related to the Gerrie Organization, the Electrical Industry, and the field of Sales.
TEAMWORK AND COLLABORATION
Work with other departments as required, conveying a professional corporate image that represents the values of Gerrie Electric.
GENERAL
Responsible for preparation and balancing of cash sales.
Ensure all shelves are stocked and material is put away in a timely fashion.
Ensure float is counter and all transactions are accurate and balanced.
Ensure timely completion of any/all special tasks as assigned by management.
Select and pack orders.
When required, perform wire cuts as per Gerrie documented procedure.
QUALITY
Accuracy of transactions/orders.
Ensure understanding of and adhere to ISO policies and procedures.
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
Participate in conferences, seminars, and other educational opportunities; reading
professional publications; maintain and participate in professional networks to enhance your knowledge and skills.
Participates on committees and special projects as requested.
